Darrell's birthday cards

Thought I'd share the cards I made hubby for his birthday lol! The boy is a stamped image from Jo, coloured with prismas, papers, gems & peel offs all from stash. the wolf is a stamp I've had for ages but never found anything really to do with it lol! stamped it onto cream textured card with walnut stain distress ink, then cut into a circle, used backings and ribbons from stash and stamped a sentiment from one of a see d's set :-)

my new whiff of joy stamp :-)

Isn't Lizzie just the sweetest little girl lol! I absolutely love this stamp - just can't believe that 'cos of all the college work I had to do she's been sat here nearly 2 WEEKS without me using her!!!! How bad is that! I really enjoyed making these, it was so nice to be able to sit and do some crafting without having to stress over assignments - have to make the most of a limited amount of 'me' time

All images are coloured with prismas, white sakura souffle, glitter glue and sakura stardusts for the added sparkles - though they don't show up so well on the scan! Papers on the blue cards are docrafts (I think) and the red one is a one I downloaded and found sat on the comp - can't remember where its from but think its one of the Summer Driggs kits, but wouldn't swear it under oath lol. Ribbons and embellishments from my stash

good news :-)

been feeling the pressure recently - a lot lol! been really stressed with all the college work and finances etc but got a little bit of good news today for a change! My eldest daughter Hazel who's 11 sent an application in to Britain's Got Talent and she just got a letter this morning telling her she has an audition on 26th November - not sure how well she'll do or how far she'll get as the competition will be tough - but its always been her dream she lives to sing so here's hoping lol!!!!!

a few cards I made last night

All these are with some of the images Jo sent me, the little girls are sweet ebony images, these stamps are definitely going on my 'after christmas' list. The little dragon is called Daphne and is from Lilac Lemon Designs - I love Beckie's stamps they're gorgeous, for anyone who hasn't seen them go over to Lilac Lemon and take a look.
All backing papers and embellishments are from my stash :-) All of them are coloured with a combination of prismacolors and whsmiths blendables (great pencils for anyone on a budget!) The clouds and hi-lites on Daphne Dragon are coloured with white sakura souffle - I love the effect those pens give, adds a bit of depth and texture lol

sweet ebony

I love this one, its one of my favourite images :-) I'm not fortunate enough to have been able to buy the stamps yet, but Jo sent me some gorgeous stamped images and this was in with them - I couldn't wait to get colouring, so here's the first card I made. Coloured with prismas and whsmith blendables, backing papers are from my stash and the little flowers are punched from the backing papers with a little gem in the centre for a bit of sparkle :-) I'm really pleased with this one - its one of the best I've done for a while

autumn colours.....

something a bit different to the usual girly colours I tend to go for - took a bit of doing this one though cos I coloured the images and started putting the card together and hubby decided the backings i was planning on using didn't work..... so it got me rethinking and printing out different backings till I found something that worked lol - but I got there in the end :-) The flower isn't as orange as it looks lol - its crocheted in a variegated thread so is more golden shades and cream like the ribbon

My new stamp

well, it seems to be a heck of a long time since I made a 'stamped' card thats not coloured.... so was a little out of practise and not sure how this one would turn out. I bought the stamp from Mandy who's on a forum with me - her online store Sparklybits is like aladdin's cave lol - there's so much to choose from, prices are great and delivery is so fast!

I stamped the image onto plain white cardstock with black stazon, matted and layered black & white circles, edged with silver peeloffs, mounted onto black - didn't have a matching backing so stamped the tree randomly in black and silver onto white paper and used to back - finished the whole thing off with some peeloffs and crystal type stars - then covered the tree with 3d glaze which gives it an enamelled effect

2 cards I made

Taken a while but finally got something put together at last :-) Wasn't too sure about them - especially as the pics aren't great - but hey ho, can't get it right every time - I'm sure they'll grow on me lol All the backings are ones I printed off from free downloads (my favourite word - 'free') Images are all coloured with prismas and covered with a 3d glaze, fibres and gems from stash - the one on tilda's bow is pink but the scanner didn't like it :-(, the black flowers on the halloween card were taken off a length of white ribbon - I tried drawing a spider's web and smudged it lolol so covered the mistake with flowers!!

10 minute warning!!!!

My darling daughter decided to tell me 10 mins before they were due out to school that it's her teacher's birthday today and she wanted a card for her!!! I had some images coloured already so just 'threw' something together quickly - just hope her teacher likes it!!! maybe next time she'll give me 15 mins then I can add some embellishments lololol
Image is one of the Tilda Pink Ribbons (but wanted a change from pink lol), coloured with prismas and coated with a 3d gloss, embossed card was sent to me by a friend with a cuttlebug, paper and sentiment sticker from my stash

This is the card I made for my daughter's 6th birthday - it was a quick one cos didn't have much time - I wasn't too sure about it but seeing as it was nearly midnight and had to get up early for college I had to leave it as it was - but Alisha was pleased - she loved it cos its pink and has fairies!!!
Papers are the dovecraft fantasy, image was one I received from a friend and ribbon and flowers from stash :-)

It's taken a while - but at last I have something to show :-) Decided to have a go at making something see if it would take my mind off the migraine I've had for 2 days - and no voice either!! got up Tuesday for college and was really croaky and as the day wore on it disappeared - the kids love it lol
The image is one I bought from ebay a while ago, sentiment was a freebie in with the images - coloured with prismas, papers are papermania simply elegant and the crochet flowers are some my mum made

Sorry :-(

I havent forgotten all my blogging friends, I just haven't had any time to spare to spend on here! I just started back at college and its pretty intense so haven't had any free time to craft or anything! The course I'm doing is usually a part time course over 2 years, but they had quite a big demand so they set up an extra group - but its full time - so I've 2 years work to do between now and the beginning of July! Oh yeah, and then there's the assignments to do at home, Uni application and my dissertation! phew!! It will be worth it though because a year from now if all goes ok I'll be at uni and doing my nursing degree :-)
Can't wait until I get back into the routine and things settle down and I can try and get the creativity flowing again lol

Hazel my eldest daughter just started senior school this time! I can't believe how quickly the time's flown makes me feel old!!! It never dawned on me till Friday when she went to school that its 25 years since I was in the same position - first day at 'big' school - help, I'm old!!!!

Thought I'd post a pic of her looking all grown up in her new uniform - she'll probably kill me though hehe!!

Claudia has candy!

Claudia has candy on offer so go over and take a look at her amazing blog, her cards are truly a work of art!

I'm a naughty blogger.........

I've not made anything for ages lol. I suppose its because of the summer holidays and having the kids home I just don't seem to have much time to sit and do anything - and by the time they go to bed I'm too tired to start making cards lol. Oh well, there's time enough when they're back at school - or after my shopping spree later!!!
Had my birthday yesterday and hubby hadn't a clue what to buy me - so he's ordered me some prismas wooohooo and is taking me out shopping today to buy something - only now I can't think of anything I want so will just have to browse and spend hehe
Maybe I'll have something to show in the next day or 2 if I'm lucky :-) I've certainly been enjoying blog hopping and seeing everyone's wonderful creations - definitely not stuck for ideas - just time!!

Decorated Candles

Been playing with something different but didn't want to post before now cos its a gift for someone and didn't want them to see before it was posted.

The flowery one is rub-ons, which took a little bit of 'gentle persuasion' to adhere to the candle and the dreamcatcher one is rubber stamps, stamped with black pigment ink and a little colour added with H2Os and then put onto the candle - burnt my fingers on the heat gun a couple of times lol but I'm pleased with the results - just hope the recipient is as its the first time I've stamped onto candles!!!

'Flying Bugs' ATC

This is an atc I've made for a group 'winner takes all' swap with the theme 'flying bugs'.

The backing papers are printed from a website but can't remember which one! The little rhyme is the creation of my 11 year old Hazel, wooden flower and ladybirds in the corners, the other ladybirds are coloured in peel offs - but I couldn't find red so had to have pink lol. And of course had to have the peel off borders!! Found it a bit difficult to get a good pic as it won't lay flat on the scanner and the light reflected off the peel offs on the cam!

Not too sure about this one yet, but I think its growing on me but hubby and kids think its 'cute'!

Look at all my goodies :-)

Over on SBS 16 Sonja organised a secret sister swap for us.... the idea was to send goodies and something you made to your partner. I just received mine and look at the great things I got :-) Stickers, backing papers (a set I've been promising myself for a while and never got round to buying them!) ribbon, glitter, a dreamcatcher, and not to be missed out a SUGAR NELL STAMP which I've wanted for soooooo long :-):-) Then of course there's a beautifully decorated domino with a cute kitty on it and a fabulous handmade notebook.
you should see me... I'm grinning like an idiot lolI'm sooooo thrilled, can't wait to play with them all

My secret sister didn't put her name on the package but with a bit of detective work (blog hopping and postcode tracing lol) I think I figured out who sent it hehe and I want to say a HUGE thank you - its absolutely stunning, I'm thrilled with what you chose for me and the beautiful book and domino you made too. I'm a very very happy bunny - its like my birthday and christmas all rolled into one - but better :-) I also want to say tank you to sonja for taking the time to organise the swap

Pressies for the teachers :-)

Well, it took a while but finally got there!! Decided that rather than the usual flowers/chocolates which last 5 minutes I'd go for something they could keep!!! Ended up having to give the teaching assistants a handmade card and a promise of their baskets after the hols as only just managed to get these done in time to take to school - in fact one went with wet glitter glue on hehe!! But they were well received, teachers seemed thrilled with them which is all that matters
Think it would have been better going to school with a jumbo box of tissues - Hazel is devastated as she's finished primary school now and is off to high school in september. She's looking forward to it and is dead excited, but there's only 6 from her primary transferring to the high school she got accepted into as its not a local one, so she's going to lose touch with most of her friends she's known from being 5 poor thing!!! But she wanted to go to a 'better' school lolol she'll soon make new friends!

Can anybody help please

I'm trying to set my blog so that I have to approve comments but can't find how to do it. The only thing I can find is to set a list of email addys for people I want to view my blog. I want it so that it can be viewed by anyone but they can only comment if I allow the comment cos I'm getting a few messages appearing I don't want.
Also I'd like to know how to 'link' properly to other blogs, so instead of putting in a full email I can just put maybe a name and it highlights and links straight to the blog

Would be great if someone could explain how to do this cos I'm hopeless with the technical stuff
